And it is official.
After much research (not really) I now know that the very first show of 2009 that I own (will own) is Pro Wrestling Guerrilla's "The Gentle Art Of Making Enemies." This will be the show that officially starts this blog.
Problem is, the show is currently sitting under my Christmas tree (actually it is sitting in Renee's drawer, since we haven't put the Christmas tree up yet...we should get on that huh?) and thus is impossible for me to watch before December 26th. Or at least late at night on December 25th, which I am not going to lie, could totally be an option and the most awesome way to end a Christmas day ever.

Chronologically frozen
I don't know how I fell so far behind...
One of my goals for 2009 was to keep up on the independent wrestling scene as much as possible. And indeed, in some ways, this was a success. Attending more wrestling shows this year from a larger variety of companies than ever before means I did in fact broaden my horizons in some ways. But the main way to keep up on the indy scene, through DVD viewing, is where I just didn't come up to the task. Sure I picked up plenty of DVDs from many different companies over the year, but how many of them have I watched? And more importantly, how many of them did I actually regularly keep up on? The sad truth is not nearly enough to feel satisfied with my efforts.
Thus a new goal (and blog) is born! I will keep up on the indy scene on DVD, in chronological order, and I will start right now. I'm going back to the start of 2009 and watching through all of the shows I have in date order. And I will share thoughts on each of those shows, because I have thoughts and I have internet access and that basically means I should share them somewhere, right?
Haven't decided when I am going to start this quite yet. Part of me is thinking not until January 2010, so that I have some time to get a few last shows on DVD that I'd like to watch. Seeing as I am watching things in chronological order, I will not go back and pick up any shows that are before the date I am up to once I get going with this. So now is the time to pick up some extra stuff.
Perhaps I will start much sooner though. Hmmm...
One of my other "goals," as it were, is to get through 2009 in as little time as possible. I am hoping that by April 2010, I will be done with my 2009 watching, but that may be a bit too ambitious. Seeing as I have about 60 shows right now for the year and plan on picking up a number more, this could take awhile...
